VP for Workforce and Economic Development

Ana GreifDr. Ana Greif joined San Juan College as the Vice President for Workforce and Economic Development in October 2025. In this position, she provides leadership and guidance for grant development, Continuing Education and Workforce Development, the Quality Center for Business, which houses the Enterprise Center and the Small Business Development Center and the Harvest Food Hub

Prior to joining San Juan College, Dr. Greif served as the Chief Executive Officer of JobPath, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial and socioemotional support to adults pursuing careers in high-demand industries. Under her leadership, JobPath supported more than 600 students annually in fields such as industrial trades, information technology and healthcare.

Throughout her career, Dr. Greif has demonstrated a strong commitment to aligning education with the needs of today’s economy. At Pima Community College, she strengthened workforce development programs through strategic collaboration with industry partners, ensuring graduates were prepared for success. She also founded Varela Consulting, partnering with governments, universities and organizations across 13 countries to design programs that promote entrepreneurship and expand economic opportunity.

Her background in workforce development and education reflects a strong commitment to helping students and communities access career opportunities.

Dr. Greif holds a Doctorate in Education from Johns Hopkins University, where her research focused on bridging the manufacturing skills gap by examining the role of nontechnical skills in workplace success. She also earned a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona.
