Eileen Richey, Certified Auxiliary Services Professional (CASP), received the 2026 Cornerstone of the Profession Award from the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS).
The award recognizes Richey’s leadership, service and contributions to auxiliary services in higher education.
NACAS presents the Cornerstone of the Profession Award to distinguished auxiliary services professionals whose dedication and leadership have made a lasting impact on the field. Richey’s recognition reflects a career focused on professional excellence, collaboration and service to colleagues across higher education.
“I am very honored to be recognized in this way. Not many community colleges are represented in the association, so representing SJC makes me especially proud,” said Richey when asked about her thoughts on the news.
A Career Dedicated to Auxiliary Services
Richey has built a strong reputation through her work at SJC and her continued involvement in the auxiliary services profession. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a commitment to strengthening the services and experiences that support students and campus communities.
Her volunteer service with NACAS began as a Certification Commission At-Large Director, followed by an unexpected two-year term as NACAS West President. She currently serves as the Past President and West Representative to the NACAS Board of Directors.
Through these roles, Richey has contributed her experience and perspective to the broader auxiliary services community while building connections with professionals across the country.

Her willingness to serve, collaborate and share her knowledge has strengthened both SJC and the broader auxiliary services community. Advancing the Auxiliary Services Profession
Auxiliary services play an important role in the college experience. Professionals in the field oversee and support areas such as dining, housing, transportation, mailing, printing, card services and other campus operations. Their work helps colleges and universities create welcoming, efficient and supportive environments for students.
NACAS serves as a professional association for auxiliary and ancillary services professionals in higher education. The organization provides education, professional development, networking and resources designed to help members advance their careers, strengthen their institutions and enhance the student experience.
Cornerstone Award Supports the NACAS Foundation
The Cornerstone of the Profession Award also includes an opportunity to support the next generation of auxiliary services professionals. Each honoree pursues a $3,500 fundraising goal in their name, with funds supporting the NACAS Foundation’s grants and scholarships.
The fundraising initiative allows colleagues, friends, institutions and members of the NACAS community to recognize honorees while supporting professional development opportunities for NACAS members.
Richey will receive the 2026 Cornerstone of the Profession Award on Sunday, September 27, 2026, during the C3X Annual Conference & Expo in Chicago, Illinois.
Her recognition is a celebration not only of her professional accomplishments, but also of the relationships, collaboration and service that have defined her work in auxiliary services.
